Affiliate disclosure
This page explains whether Local AI Scope earns money from the links it publishes, and what rules it imposes on itself so that money never changes a recommendation.
Status on 25 August 2026: this site has no active affiliate links and belongs to no commission program. No money, no hardware and no early access has been received from any manufacturer.
1. What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a link to a shop that, if you buy, pays a commission to whoever published it. The price you pay is the same; what changes is that the site takes a cut. The obvious problem is the conflict of interest: someone who gets paid for a recommendation has a reason to make it.
2. The rules this site applies to itself
When affiliate links exist — they are planned for the hardware recommendations — these rules will apply, and all of them can be checked from the outside:
- Ranking is computed before money enters. The ordering of models and machines comes out of the measured dataset. Commercial availability is applied afterwards and can never reorder the result. “Best” does not mean “pays most”.
- Every commission-earning link is visibly labeled next to the link itself, not only on this page, and carries
rel="sponsored nofollow". - There will always be a commission-free alternative where one exists: the exact product name so you can search for it yourself, plus the manufacturer’s primary source.
- Prices carry a date and a market. A price without a date is not a figure; an expired price is marked Stale and stops supporting any recommendation.
- No manufacturer pays to appear. Reviews, ranking positions and mentions are not for sale. Text written by a manufacturer is not accepted.
- Loaned hardware is declared. If a manufacturer ever lends a machine for testing, it will be stated on that machine’s page and in the editorial policy, along with whether any conditions were attached — and the measurement will be published even if it turns out badly.
3. What the site gets in exchange for your data
Nothing that could be sold, because nothing sellable is collected. This site does not sell data and does not pass data to advertisers — there are no advertisers. What it does do, since 26 August 2026, is measure its own audience: first-party analytics with no cookies, hosted on a server of ours, which does not identify you and is described in full in the privacy policy. If advertising is ever switched on, it will be announced first in that policy and in the cookie policy, and it will carry the prior consent the law requires.
Correction of 31 August 2026. Until today this paragraph said the site “does not even measure its own audience”. That was true on 25 August and stopped being true on the 26th; the sentence was not updated. It is corrected here, with its date, like any other data correction.
4. How to check that this holds
If you find a recommendation that only makes sense because of a commission, or a commercial link that is not labeled, write to the address in the legal notice. Corrections are published with their date, like any other data correction.
5. Changes
On the day the first affiliate program is joined, this page will change before the first link is published, and it will say so with the date.
